Enroll Your Child in Joyous Tutoring

Joyous Tutoring offers free, 1-on-1 literacy tutoring for elementary and middle school students. In-person events and workshops are held in Austin, TX, but virtual tutoring is available to students anywhere.Priority is given to families in public housing.

1) Fill out the enrollment form.
2) Schedule an Informal Reading Inventory (reading assessment).
3) Begin customized tutoring plan (sessions are ~ 30 min each).

Note: All youth are welcome to participate. However, we prioritize students living in government-assisted or subsidized housing, where literacy gaps are most significant. According to the Texas Education Agency's most recent data, only 31% of economically disadvantaged students in AISD are reading on grade level compared to 82% of their economically advantaged peers.
